In this session, Middletons' Partner Murray Landis, will provide participants with strategies to deal with common ethical problems encountered in legal practice.

Topics covered will include:

  • Duties and confidentiality
  • When is legal advice unethical?
  • Do you have a duty to represent a repugnant client?
  • Some ethical dilemmas and how to deal with them.
    Is it ok to:
    • tell lies in negotiations?
    • turn a blind eye to a client's illegal conduct?
    • talk to the client of another solicitor during a matter?

Lunch will be provided.
